Exterior Doors in Tecumseh

Exterior Doors for Tecumseh homes

Tecumseh runs from established neighbourhoods along the Lake St. Clair shoreline south to the larger lots of Oldcastle. For Tecumseh homeowners, exterior door projects often combine a new front entry with updated sidelites, or a patio door that opens onto a new deck. Wind exposure closer to the lake makes proper weatherstripping and sill flashing especially important.

What's included

Entry doors, patio doors and side doors installed plumb, weather-sealed and secure. Depending on your project, the work can include:

• Front entry doors
• Patio doors
• Side and garage entry doors
• New and widened openings
• Trim and finishing
• Hardware
• Measure and assess.
• Select and quote.
• Install.
• Finish and adjust.

Full details, our process and common questions are on our main exterior doors page.

Local conditions in Tecumseh

Homes near Lake St. Clair can see stronger winds and wind-driven rain than more sheltered inland properties. That puts extra demand on roofing, siding, flashing and eavestroughs, so we pay particular attention to fastening, weather barriers and water management on Tecumseh exterior projects.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for exterior doors in Tecumseh, get clear answers to these before signing:

• How will the sill be flashed and supported?
• What happens if the subfloor under the old door is rotted?
• Will the door be finished and adjusted the same day?

Permits and approvals

Building permits in Tecumseh are issued by the Town of Tecumseh, and zoning rules come from the Town's zoning by-law. Shoreline and low-lying properties may also need approval from the Essex Region Conservation Authority. We confirm what applies to your project during planning.
